Actions
Amoxycillin is a broad spectrum semi-synthetic penicillin, bactericidal in action, it is effective against a wide range of gram positive and gram negative bacteria.

Indications 
Amoxycillin is a broad spectrum semi-synthetic penicillin, bactericidal in action.

Major indications include the following; Local infections, General infections, Alimentary tract infections, Respiratory infections, Secondary bacterial infections and Urogenital tract infections. After absorption, high levels of amoxycillin are found in kidney, urine, liver and bile. Amoxycillin has a rapid bactericidal action. In vitro it is effective against a wide range of amoxycillin sensitive Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogenic bacteria which include; Actinobacillus equuli, Actinobacillus lignieresii, Actinomyces bovis, Bacillus anthracis, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Fusiformis spp., Haemophilus spp., Moraxella spp., Pasteurella spp., Proteus mirabilis, Staphylococci and Streptococci in horses, cattle, pigs, sheep, dogs and cats.

Directions for use 
SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE
Administer by subcutaneous or intramuscular injection then massage the injection site. Recommended dosage rate is 7mg/kg bodyweight once daily for up to five days. Any variation by the prescribing veterinarian to the approved dose, frequency, duration, route, disease or target species may require extending the approved withholding period.

Presentation 
Injection, multidose vial 100ml.

Composition 
Amoxyvet Injection is an off-white sterile suspension containing 150mg/ml amoxycillin (as amoxycillin trihydrate).

Contraindications 
Do Not Use in lactating or pregnant ewes where milk or milk products may be used for human consumption. Amoxyvet Injection is not suitable for intravenous injection. This product is contraindicated for use in penicillin sensitive animals. Amoxycillin like other penicillins, should not be used ‘off label’ orally or parenterally in rabbits, hampsters, gerbils or guinea pigs.

Precautions 
Use the contents of this vial within 4 weeks of initial broaching and discard any unused portion. Occasional local reaction may occur with use of Amoxyvet Injection.

Animals with functionally mature rumens should only be treated parenterally.

Dispose of empty container by wrapping with paper and placing in garbage.
 
Withholding Periods
Meat: do not use less than 28 days before slaughter for human consumption.

Milk: Cattle, Milk collected from cows within 48 hours, 4 milkings, following treatment MUST NOT BE USED for human consumption or processing, or fed to bobby calves.

Sheep: DO NOT USE in lactating or pregnant ewes where milk or milk products may be used for human consumption.
Any variation by the prescribing veterinarian to the approved dose, frequency, duration, route, disease or target species may require extending the approved withholding period.

Storage 

Store below 25ºC (air conditioning). Do not freeze. Protect from light. Use the contents of this vial within 4 weeks of initial broaching and discard any unused portion.
