Ilium Vetacaine

Injection

Actions

Local anaesthetic; provides a rapid onset of action and produces less tissue reaction than lignocaine. Used intradermally and subcutaneously to anaesthetise nerve ending, or as a local injection to immediate area of nerves as a nerve block, paravertebral block, epidural and spinal anaesthesia, intrathecal anaesthesia. Although VETACAINE is particularly recommended for horses, it is suitable for all animals. The lack of tissue reaction makes it useful for use in wounds, particularly those of the lower leg, which can be sutured in confidence for rapid healing. VETACAINE reduces the
occurrence of stitch necrosis.
